Looking to expand his martial arts knowledge, Sensei began studying Aikido under Sensei Rick Wolslayer in Albany, New York. Inspired to learn more about Aikido, in 1997 Sensei moved to Japan and began studying Aikikai Aikido where he attained the rank of Shodan. He returned to the United States and moved to Middletown, Connecticut where he began studying at Cromwell Martial Arts under Master instructor Frank Shekosky. (Master Shekosky has been inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall Of Fame and named as the weapons Master of the year.) At CMA, Sensei achieved the rank of San-Dan in Kempo Karate, and Lakan Isa (black belt) in Modern Arnis. Additionally, Sensei became the first student under Master Shekosky in Kobujutsu (weapons) achieving the rank of San-dan. Over the years Sensei has successfully competed in many tournaments and while living in Connecticut, was the two time Connecticut State Champion in both Weapons and empty hand Kata Divisions in 2002 and 2003. In the summer of 2004 Sensei moved to Pensacola Florida and started DMA.
